After months of built up hype, can they deliver?
They are here bruh. The @bruh_bears minted on the 06.11.2022 and if you didn’t get in the bruhlist, you are not the only one. Thousands missed out. People who did get on the whitelist minted for 5.5 APT. The mint took roughly around 45 minutes to sell out for the 5000 bears. They have reached $500,000 in sales on the secondary market, which is impressive after one day. However, it will be interesting to keep an eye on the volume after the initial hype.
The project has been hyped for months boasting around 97.5k followers on twitter, although after completing a twitter audit 20% were found to be potentially botted. Their twitter following did dip 2k after mint, which is unusual. Are these people who were not happy they didn’t get on the initial list and missed out? Or are they people who minted, flipped for profit and said adios? Whatever it may be, it is not a good sign. Surely after mint the community should grow and not the other way around.
The floor price (FP) at all time high was around the 30 APT mark however that has come crashing down to around 8 FP a day after minting. Is this a sign of a pump and dump? Could be. Although this could build back up in the coming days, it does not give you the blue-chip vibes that the @Aptomingos did reaching FP’s of around 120 during the hype and settling at 40 FP a few weeks after.
For a team who wants to pride themselves for building a community, it’s strange that the only things you communicate with others on their official discord is the word “Bruh”. There is an eerie feeling of a bot community there.
Twitter is their main engagement platform it seems and there is more energy there from their following with their pinned post regarding the mint having 2100+ likes. That strangely relates to the 2108 current owner count of the bears showing on topaz.so.
As of the time of writing this article, there is still no real utility for the bears, no roadmap and no official ranking, although the team have announced that something will be coming soon on all regards. A little slow maybe? Some have criticized the project in these aspects. As for the art, well, it does not scream of high quality.
