The AptoPunks are here. The first punks in the Aptos chain.

Did you miss out on the punks on Ethereum and Solana? Well the punks are back.

There will be 10,000 punks, that have similar traits and pay homage to the previous collections before them, the CryptoPunks and the SolPunks. The collection on Aptos launched on the 29th October 2022. You can pick yourself up a male, female, zombie, ape or alien punk. These are the numbers to be minted by type:

As you can see the rarest type is alien with only 10 available out of 10,000. However, the most expensive AptoPunk sold so far has been an Ape type which has sold for 500APT equivalent to approximately $3600. This is some feat considering the collection only launched less than a week ago. Can it hit the heights of previous punk projects? Currently the AptoPunks are number 4 on trending collections on the https://www.topaz.so/ marketplace and have been sitting in the top 5 for several days.

The project has stated that it will also use funds raised from royalties to invest in the Aptos ecosystem. Staying true to their word, within a few days of launching their first investment has already been made with Mojito Markets. Mojito Markets is a decentralised peer-peer exchange and prediction market on the Aptos blockchain. The project acquired 10,000 $MOJO which is the Mojito Markets native governance token.

The CryptoPunks from the Ehtereum blockchain take up 5 spots in the top 10 most expensive NFTs every sold, with the most expensive selling for $23.7ml. Does the future hold something similar for the AptoPunks? We will surely find out in the coming weeks and months as the project progresses. One thing is for sure, they will cause excitement for people who always wanted to own a punk and never had the chance.

You can find more information on the project on their official website https://aptopunks.xyz.
